Large Macaws

Few creatures on this planet are as majestic and awe inspiring as the largest of Macaws.  Their beauty can only be matched by their intelligence and curiosity. They continue to be extremely popular and for good reasons.  Their lifespans can match or exceed our own so they are lifelong companions and committments.  The large macaws are also some of the largest parrots available.

There are twelve known species considered “large macaws”.  One, the Cuban Macaw, is now extinct, while several other species are on the verge of extinction.  However, four species are commonly available in the United States, and three species are available but harder to find.

We raise all four of the common macaws:  Greenwings, Scarlets, Blue&Golds and Militaries.  We also raise two of the harder to find macaws: Blue Throated and Red-Fronted. Each species possesses unique personalities and traits.  Let us help you find the one that’s right for you.
